AP Biology
AP Biology at The Young Women's Leadership School offers students an immersive, college-level introduction to the science of life. Grounded in the four Big Ideas of modern biology (Evolution, Energetics, Information, and Interactions) this course challenges students to think critically, investigate deeply, and develop the analytical skills that define scientific practice.
Students explore topics ranging from the chemistry of living systems and cellular processes to heredity, gene expression, natural selection, and ecology. Alongside rigorous coursework, students engage in hands-on laboratory investigations that build real scientific skills in observation, data analysis, and experimental design.
This course prepares students to sit for the College Board AP Biology Exam in May, with qualifying scores potentially earning college credit. More than exam preparation, AP Biology is an invitation to see the living world differently and to discover what you are truly capable of.
